The Millard South hockey team started the season against powerhouse Creighton Prep Monday night.
The game did not disappoint with a Patriot win of 4-3.
The Patriots jumped out to an early 3-0 lead with goals coming from senior Gabe Wilson, junior Caleb Washchowski and senior Logan Withee. But the Jays didn’t give up, marching back to tie the game at 3 and entering a shootout. The Patriots, who were undefeated in shootouts coming into Monday’s game, were very confident. Going back and forth, the Patriots won in the 7th round of the shootout with Wilson scoring the winning goal.
“It was a bad day to be a Blue Jay,” senior Peyton Daniel said.
The Patriots look to take on Elkhorn High on Wednesday night 8:45 at Baxter Arena.
