Staying in Step with Marching Cancellations

The Nebraska State Bandmaster Association has cancelled all competitive marching in the state of Nebraska on July 22 2020. The difficult decision was made by the board of NSBA, and their president Michael Schlake wrote a letter to the public discussing the reasoning behind the cancellation.

“Many factors were taken into consideration…however, the safety of our students, directors, workers, adjudicators, vendors, and spectators were of the utmost importance.”

Although the competitive season has been cancelled, the band director at Millard South, Darren Myers, said the band will continue to work on their new show for this year, showing it at football games and possibly for other non-sanctioned events.
