(No Spoilers) Spiderman: No Way Home Review
After two years of waiting, the release of the third installment in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy has finally arrived, and it was well worth the wait. With an amazing $260 million on its opening weekend, Spider-Man: No Way Home was a huge success, coming in as the second-largest opening weekend in history.
The beginning of the movie takes place immediately after the events of Far From Home. Spider-Man’s identity was revealed to the world as none other than Peter Parker. With help from everyone’s favorite multi-dimensional superhero, Doctor Strange, we watch as the now unmasked Peter tries to juggle his new life. However, just as the original quote says, “With great power comes great responsibility” this won’t be as easy as he thinks.
This movie is filled with loads of spoilers, but I promise, I won’t reveal any of them. Watching this in theatres was an emotional rollercoaster, but I am not complaining about that. There was so much to take in and I laughed and I cried, but that just made it even more enjoyable. Not only that, but as we saw in the trailer, the return of several original enemies and their original actors such as Dr. Octopus (Alfred Molina), Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), and so many more allowed for all of the nostalgia to come spilling in. Also, the work of popular actors such as Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Zendaya (MJ), and of course Tom Holland (Peter Parker) was fantastic, to say the least. They captured both the awkwardness of a coming-of-age story and all of the action that comes with being in a superhero movie. This newest installment allowed for a whole new realm of ideas to explore in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I am excited to see what is in store. And just in case you didn’t know already, just like any typical MCU movie there are post-credit scenes. There are two of them and they both nod to what is coming next.
The hype around this movie was over the top as rumors and predictions began swarming immediately after the first trailer hit. I can’t really say that this movie is all around perfect, but it sure does come extremely close. It is definitely one of the best movies I have seen in a long time and it has everything I wanted and more when walking into it. Even if you are just the average viewer, you are sure to have a great time and if you are a huge Spider-Man fan like myself, you will not be the least bit disappointed.
