If you are looking for amazing sushi, modern atmosphere, and a peaceful experience I would suggest Koi Sushi and Grill. Just off of 16919 Audrey Street (www.koisushine.com) Koi Sushi is a new business with really good food and options.
When you walk in you’ll immediately notice it has a simple and modern look. Decorated with teal and minimalistic concepts and touches of Japanese culture. The service was impressive. At the front counter, the employee who greeted us was really friendly and gave us each a menu right away. The seating was kinda small and gave a fast food feel to the atmosphere.
Koi’s menu was really big and contained a huge selection of Japanese appetizers, soups, salads, sushi rolls, hibachi, poke bowls, bento boxes, and even a kids menu. This also had vegetarian options and they made sure to mark all items that contained raw seafood. Our group’s only complaint on the selection was that the drink options were pretty limited, only offering bottles with hardly any Japanese options and definitely not refills.
Our party of five ordered: the American Combo (which included California rolls, Shrimp Tempura rolls, and Super Crunchy rolls), the Steak and Chicken Hibachi (coming with a side of fried rice, vegetables, and miso soup), the Salmon Teriyaki, and Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura bento boxes. The food was incredibly good and seemed really fresh, everyone in our party loved it!
While the prices were about average for a sushi place, we were expecting lower prices due to the fast food vibes and limited drink options.
Overall it was a pretty good experience and we will be returning for special occasions and good food! I would suggest this to anyone who loves sushi and is looking to support a locally owned place!
