She loves drawing anime and is learning how to do more in that area. Plus she’s won a first place award for her artwork at state journalism in 2024.

This is a piece of art representing the two main types of menstrual products and showcasing them under a big “For Free'' sign. This goes with our Editorial on the new bill being passed to make menstrual products free for students. This is a digital piece I created from a blank page creating my own patterns and colors to show the most used period products. I hope this helps improve my art and people enjoy it even if it’s a little strange.

Artist Statement: My artwork is a whimsical scene you’ve seen in almost a million fairytales, representing the story of the first valentine sent. I started with a blank digital page (on Ibis Paint X) and used preset brushes to convey paint, charcoal, and a burnt page. Lastly I applied colored noise and faded the opacity to give the impression it’s on a real page. All of this took 39 minutes and 55 seconds (per my app) to give the allusion of a dulled old page. I hope this will help me improve future art and that people can envision my creative scenes.
