Everyone has at least one movie that they love most of all. One that brings you more comfort than any others. Whether you watch it at your lowest, happiest, during heartbreak, or any other time in your life, that movie holds a special place in your heart.
For junior Jazlyn Price, her comfort movie is Scream.
“Scream is comforting to me because it’s one of those movies I know by heart.” Price says. “Knowing what’s going to happen next gives me a sense of control over this roller coaster we call life.”
She said this movie makes her feel excited about the next part and waiting for her favorite lines. It gives her a sense of tranquility knowing that there’s something familiar about what she’s watching.
“We never know how life will turn out, but something as small as knowing how a movie ends makes me feel more put together.”
“When I watch this movie, I’m usually in a good mood,” freshman Isabella Niehaus said about ‘10 Things I hate About You.’
“It brings me comfort because it’s a good movie to either laugh or cry to,” Niehaus said.
It’s a movie that’s a rollercoaster of emotions from love to heartbreak. It’s a feel good movie that can make you really sad but happy in the end. “I never find it boring to watch, and it has different dynamics to it that I like,” Niehaus said. “It’s a really nice movie, and I find that it brings different emotions to you throughout watching it.”
Everyone has a movie like this. Whether it is a romcom, action, horror, thriller, or comedy movie. I encourage you to go curl up with a soft blanket, a mug full of your favorite warm drink, snacks, and watch your comfort movie.
