For four decades, Dragon Ball has been watched by adoring fans from all around the world, and due to recent announcements, this won’t be coming to an end any time soon. With the upcoming release of Dragon Ball Super Galactic Patrol, the series will continue for several more seasons than anticipated.

Ever since the unfortunate passing of Akira Toriyama – Dragon Ball’s original creator – fans and production teams alike have been unsure of the series’s comeback, some even assuming the series was being brought to an end. Thanks to Toriyama’s successor, Toyotaro, and the dedicated team bringing these concepts to life, Dragon Ball will once again deliver thrilling, suspenseful stories for years to come.

The new content fortunately doesn’t stop there, but in the very same announcement, Toyotaro stated that several seasons of existing Dragon Ball Z would be reworked and re-released in late fall of this year. Due to high demand for new episodes, the animation team was pulled taut with pumping out an episode weekly and staying on top of drawing the ongoing manga only a few short years ago. Because of this, fans have complained that the animation was lackluster and, frankly, disappointing when watching.

In response to this, Toriyama released a movie summing up half a season with cleaner animation and a shortened story to make the watch worthwhile without missing a thing. Though, in recent events, an entire new remake of this season has been announced with even cleaner animation, flashier effects, and a more in-depth story. This is an exciting time for all Dragon Ball fans, for sure. What more is to come in just a few years?
