Art is something that has been with me my entire life. I’ve used it as a form of self-expression, a way to connect with others, and even as a cure for boredom. When I was a freshman, my art teacher recommended me to Mrs. Kaldahl to be a cartoonist for the school’s newspaper because of my artistic skill. I thought being on the newspaper staff would just be another class, but it turned out to be so much more. It helped me connect with new people and even strengthen old bonds. I’ve seen a significant increase in my art and writing skills since I originally joined. It’s been a long 4 years, but I want to thank the newspaper staff and Mrs. Kaldahl for supporting me through even the toughest times. This has been an experience I am so grateful for, and I will never forget it. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
This was the first-ever piece of artwork that I completed for the newspaper in my sophomore year. I drew it for our Barbenheimer story in late 2024.

I created this piece during the first semester of my junior year for our infographic about Halloween candy. This was my first time using Blender, and it took me a few days to figure out, but I remember being super proud of how it turned out, considering it was my first time using the application. This won 7th place in the NSAA for infographics.

This is absolutely my favorite piece I have done. I drew this in my senior year for a column about when Tristan Mattingly and I visited David Howard Thornton in October. I even got to show it to him while it was still a work in progress. This won 6th place in NSAA for cartooning.
