“Regretting You” was released in October 2025. This romance and drama instantly became popular. This movie resonates with many viewers as the show follows a mom and daughter’s experience with grief and shocking betrayal.

I really enjoyed this movie because of the messy family secrets, romance, and growth in the hard times. For me this movie shows how, in the hard times, you can overcome anything.

Allison Morgan first deals with the shocking loss of her husband and her younger sister whom she raised. Then she learns that they were both having an affair. This show also follows actor Mekenna Grace who plays Morgan’s daughter, Clara. Clara struggles because she was very close to her aunt and father, and even blames herself for the accident. She has to learn to love and trust people again.

I feel like this movie shows how lives are never as is. This movie encourages growth even when growth seems impossible. I loved the way this story shows how hard it is for anyone to open up and learn about the hard truths in their lives. Every person has something that they are struggling with and that’s why this movie is beloved by many.

This movie also showed me how people are never as they seem. They did this with many characters. The first would be the sister and husband. Morgan thought they were loving and caring, but despite her marriage they had an affair. Another character that was not as seemed was Miller. Miller is the boy that dates Clara in the film. His father was in jail for drugs, so Clara’s whole family judges his actions based on his father.

This movie not only shows us how hard it is to continue your life while grieving, but it also shows how, during this pain, you are not alone. In this movie, before the accident, Clara wasn’t close with her mom – she was mainly close with her aunt. After the accident her and her mom, after lots of struggle, were able to understand and  help each other through the pain. Clara also was able to get closer to Miller because he supported her through everything, Morgan and her sister’s fiance Jonah were able to lean on each other for support during this difficult time.

“Regretting You” is not only able to resonate with me because of all of these life lessons, but it resonates with most viewers. I was really excited to watch this movie when it came out and I am not disappointed at all. For me, “Regretting You” is easily one of the best movies of 2025.
